NARS Illuminator

A friend of mine got this Nars Copacabana Illuminator as a gift from Sephora and gave it to me. I kinda just threw it in my makeup bag and forgot about it until this past week when i was looking for something to give me a nice summer glow.  It turned out to be heaven in a tube, definitely an illuminator addict’s dream! It’s a cool toned, pale pink that’s jam packed with micro-shimmer. It looks super frosty in the tube but once blended out onto the skin, it gives you the most gorgeous glow. A tiny bit goes a long way so make sure you start with a very small amount! I tend to use it on my cheekbones, down the centre of my nose, under the brow and on the cupid’s bow. Be careful though as it dries pretty quickly so you need to work rather fast! You can find this product @ Sephora for $30. It might seem pricey but it’s super concentrated and lasts forever!

CLARISONIC MIA

I GAVE IN! For the past year I kept hearing about how amazing this product was, and how it completely changed the dynamics of face washing. It’s my best spent $109. So easy to use, you can either apply the Clarisonic face gel or your own face wash…whatever you prefer. It removes dirt and oil your hands simply can’t get to. INVEST IN THIS BEAUTY PRODUCT, it is AMAZE. I bought mine from Nordstrom (just visit www.nordstrom.com).

FAB LASH

Heading to the beach/pool/backyard barbecue tomorrow?  Instead of having to choose between no make-up, and the inevitable raccoon eyes that comes with summer fun in the sun, sweep vaseline over your lashes as an alternative to mascara.  It enhances lashes (the soft shine makes them look super long and lush).  Plus, it’s an amazing eyelash conditioner.  You can also smudge a touch of it across your lids for a dewy, doe-eyed look!

Urban Decay Naked Palette 2

Sure, you’re probably familiar with the Urban Decay Naked Palette 2. But let me tell you: it’s all that it’s hyped up to be. I was first introduced by my cousin Sheila, she always raved about how much she loved it. I came across it in Sephora and thought i’d try it! It may sound a bit pricey ($50) but i promise it will be worth every penny! It has all my favorite neutrals packed in one kit, with both matte and shimmery shades? Surely that’s shadow perfection. Ranging from a frosty vanilla as highlight to an intense black and with all kinds of taupe, caramel, copper and mauve tones in between, it’s all I need in the eye department. After very elaborate research in Sephora, I concluded I prefer this one over the Naked Palette 1 since the 2 has a better division of warm and cool tones and has a matte black which is basically my life essential! (Sephora $50)

sashajuan

I am not afraid to admit that I’m a bit of a product hoarder. However it isn’t often that I find a product that I just can’t live without. As far as hair products go, I’ve tried the Moroccan Oil, Bumble and Bumble, and Schwarzkoph…but my new favorite is the Sachajuan shampoo and conditioner (made in Sweeden). The minute I tried it I fell in love.

The hook with this brand is something they call Ocean Silk technology, which basically means they extract proteins and minerals from the following sea algae – Enteromorpha Compressa, Himanthalia Elongata, Rhodophycea and Chondrus Crispus. The products are all made using over 50% natural ingredients and the effects are instant.

I”ve noticed a lot of products are great for one hair type and not so great for another but with sashajuan i can promise that it will give your hair volume, bounce and shine from the first use regardless of your hair type!

Jergens Natural Glow

OMH loves Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer, the first self-tanner to gradually deepen skin tone rather than make an immediate, drastic (and streaky) color change. Now this “thing of brilliance”  also comes in SPF 20. With just one tube, your winter-white limbs can be golden and shielded from the UV rays that cause long-term skin damage. How brilliant is that! Its also great for summer if you want that glowing look. It available in two shades: fair to medium and medium to tan. Apply in the morning as your daily moisturizer and use a SPF 15 or higher formula for further sun protection throughout the day as necessary. ($9; drugstores)

The Only Mascara For Me!

I have been using the L’Oreal Telescopic mascara for ages, it’s my go to mascara and it has never let me down. I am always getting compliments on the length of my lashes! I know this mascara has been around for years, but with a new mascara being released every 2 mins and most being a pile of poo sometimes you can lose track! It comes in a few shades but my favorite shade is the Carbon formula which is a dramatic black. For everyday use you could easily just sweep on 1 coat and have a gorgeous set lashes. I’ve worn this on a hot, sweaty night out and it didn’t flake at all and it comes off easily with just a face wipe. If you haven’t tried this already, go out and give it a go! ONLY $8.5O  L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara, Black 905

OMH’S FAVORITE EYE LINER!!

Finding a good liquid eyeliner is not easy! With that said, we have been on a hunt for a black liquid eyeliner that will meet our eyelids’ need. We have previously tried Mac’s Superslick Liquid Eye liner, but it just didn’t do the job. And you know what Jay-Z says, on to the next one. So then we decided to pick-up Almay’s Liquid Black Eyeliner at CVS. A friend had recommended this brand to us and swore by it. So we decided to give it a go! We are pretty obsessed now! It is better than a lot of high end brands. Goes on so smoothly with its easy to use brush and stays on all day without having to reapply! WE LOVEEE THIS PRODUCT and its only a whopping $7! yes!

Natural Beauty

Now that the weather is getting warmer and we’re shedding our winter skin, it is a perfect time to get into “spa mode.” There are so many things we need to do to prep for summer, and I realize it can get pretty pricey. Honestly, besides my few essentials, I would rather splurge on summer dresses and sandals, than empty my pockets on my beauty routine. You should all be very careful with what you use on your body, because so many products out there have unnecessary chemicals that do much more harm than good. I swear by all natural beauty regiments- it’s not only affordable but it’s better for you!

Here are your natural beauty essentials (I guarantee you can find these already sitting on a shelf in your kitchen):

  1. Sugar: the BEST way to naturally exfoliate your skin. You can simply add a few pinches of sugar to your regular face wash, and gently rub it on your face in circular motions. Bye dead skin cells!! But make sure to not harm your skin, exfoliating can be tricky if done the wrong way.
  2. Baking Soda: also exfoliates, but also is the perfect cleanser! Make a baking soda mask by adding a few tablespoons (2-3) in a bowl and adding a little water. Leave on your face for a few minutes, then voila, softer and cleaner skin!!
  3. Honey; the BEST natural moisturizer. You can add a spoon of honey to any of your other masks for some extra moisture, but you can even apply it to your skin alone. Leave on for a few minutes then once you wash it off you will notice that your skin is softer and less red than before! You can even add a few spoon fulls of honey to a bath to give your entire body a moisture treatment.
  4. Olive Oil: Olive oil is often used as a moisturizer, applied just like lotion! Some skin types may be sensitive though. Also, make sure you do not apply olive oil before sun bathing, it can cause you to burn.

Nail’ed It

Did you know that one of the first things people notice after your face to face greating, are your hands? A manicured hand can tell so much about a person, from who you are, what you do, and how many assistants you have! who knew?  Chipped nails can often be a sign of laziness and bad hygiene . Hence keeping up with your nails should become a weekly routine ladies!

BEST HAIR MASQUE FOR SUMMER!

This is an OMH all time favorite product. The Brazillion Blowout Masque is in my shower year round! A creamy, rich, intense conditioning masque drenches the hair once or twice a week by coating each hair strand with exclusive, nutritive proteins to eliminate frizz, promote shine, and guarantee the longest-lasting smoothing result. Everyone wants smooth, sleek, frizz-free hair during those hot summer months and the Brazillion Blowout Masque will do that.  Not to mention you’ll smell like a tropical paradise for days!        ♥M

FINALLY A CURE TO CHAPPED LIPS!

Chapped lips are the worst. No matter how much you pick them, scrub them or condition them they seem to always look dry during those winter months. Just as soon as you had given up on every lip balm out there, OMH has found exactly what you have been looking for. This maybe the first time this product has touched you lips. Lansinoh Ointment is actually meant to ease nipple irritation for breastfeeding mothers. It wipes away any dry skin in a matter of hours and it’s made of 100% pure, all-natural lanolin (a waxy substance extracted from sheep’s wool). Only a tiny bit is needed, so the 2 oz. bottle (coming in at a whopping $7.99, available at pretty much every drugstore) will last you a lifetime. We recommend applying it at night and then scrubbing dead skin off with a wet cloth the following morning.    ♥ M

Moroccan oil is a beauty miracle and OMH can swear by it. Moroccan oil is an ultra-light formula which is absorbed by the hair instantly, resulting in a natural, silky finish and brilliant shine. Its great for all hair types, yes even those with fine hair. The oil is light weight and won’t leave your hair flat! They also have Moroccan oil shampoo and conditioner.

Moisture Repair Shampoo and Conditioner are for hair that has been weakened or damaged by color, chemical processing or heat styling. The formulas are free of sulfates, phosphates and parabens, so they’re safer for the environment and won’t dry, fade or strip color-treated hair. They’re even free of sodium chloride, making them safe to use after keratin treatments.

Extra Volume Shampoo and Conditioner contain antioxidant argan oil and nutrients to cleanse, detangle and bring back body to hair. They beautify hair with shine, manageability and movement, while making it easier to style.

Also you can find Moroccan Oil hairspray, deep conditioning treatment, and much more on their site : http://www.moroccanoil.com
